    Description

    Vintage 1970's/1980's rare and hard to find commemorative association club jacket from a soldier that was aboard the U.S.S. Philippine Sea ship with Byrd to explore Antarctica after World War 2 WWII and before the Korean War. The Operation Highjump expedition left in 1947. The jacket back is embroidered with "Marine Detachment USS Philippine Sea CV-47". The front is embroidered with "Don" with a gold, white, blue and yellow "47" patch with wings, rope and anchor. The satin-style jacket also has a cloth embroidered USMC shoulder patch with seahorse and anchor. The tag on the size large jacket reads "L, 44-46". Another tag at the bottom reads "Rennoc Corporation, Vineland, N. J.".
    The jacket is in excellent condition with very minor use and storage wear as pictured. It displays beautifully with great colors and detail. This jacket was bought from the estate of D. W. Leavitt. It is sold as is and as pictured with returns not accepted. .00 USPS or FedEx postage.
